Coffee with Tanya - New Beginnings - Vol. 1

Hello! Hayush! Hola! Bonjour! Privet!

Beginnings are hard… But why not?

So you’re here… Welcome!!

After several months of deliberation, I finally decided to create a newsletter. The fact that you got this one means that you were one of the people who pushed me to take this step, so thank you for this :)

I’m going to share different stories, reads, tips and resources about various topics including technology and innovation, personal development, self-care and well-being, music, science and space, sports, interesting people to follow, yummy food recipes, travel updates, history and facts, and so much more.

So, let the journey begin…

Multipotentiale - what the hell is that?

Why is this here? Whenever you ask me how I can have so many interests, here's the answer. I am a Multipotentialite and wanted to share with you what this means.

A few months ago, during a break from work, I talked to a friend who introduced me to this term and to a large community called Puttylike.

A multipotentialite is someone with many interests and creative pursuits. It stems from the word multipotentiality–a psychological and educational term used to describe people who display aptitudes across multiple disciplines.

The term was popularized by Emilie Wapnick on Puttylike and in her 2015 super interesting TED talk, Why Some of Us Don’t have One True Calling. Multipotentialites have been movers, shakers, and out-of-the-box thinkers since the dawn of time.

Maybe you’ve heard of some of these people?

Maya Angelou, Jackie O, Eleanor Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Leonardo Da Vinci, Julia Child, Cleopatra, Aristotle, Elizabeth I, René Descartes, Trotula of Salerno, Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, Olympe de Gouges, and others

Wanna check out if you are a multipotentialite? Check it out here.

Health and Wellbeing

I would like to introduce you to a website called Tinybuddha. Featuring short stories, meditation sessions, and millions of tips and tricks, it helps me live a calmer, more mindful life.

I recommend starting with these three:

IMDB - Movies and TV Shows

Just finished watching 6 episodes of Black Bird on AppleTV. Based on a true story.

Black Bird is based on the non-fiction book “In With the Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption”, which was written by Keene and Hillel Levin (Newsweek). The show follows Keene's real-life experiences when he was tasked with trying to coax a confession from suspected serial killer Larry Hall, in order to find the bodies of as many as 18 women.
